" Father Joe" was such an important part of our family for so very many years. Whether it was a Baptism, funeral, or wedding, he was always asked by a family member to conduct the service, and despite his busy schedule, he would smile that great smile of his and accept the invitation.And how special he made the event!!! Father Joe was such a great source of consolation to my Mother and me when my father died. He called us often to see how we were getting along and everytime he came to New Castle, he would stop by our house and offer words of spitaulity in a way that only he could say them. After his return to New Castle, he gave freely of his time to Catholics who were sick at the then St. Francis Hospital. He also would offer Mass and give great homilies at the Vista South Apartments. He was not only a priest in title but also in every aspect of his entire being.
