Harry L. "H.L."  Atwood
Harry “H.L.” Atwood, 69, of Farrell, PA, passed away the afternoon of April 27, 2018 at UPMC Passavant Hospital. He was born on August 12, 1948 in Attala County, MS to Simmon and Ida D. Love Atwood. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Barbara Bell Atwood.

H.L. had worked for Shenango Provision in Sharon, PA for a number of years. He was a member of St. John Unity Holy Church in New Castle, PA. H.L. loved to fish, play the guitar, and listen to jazz music. He was a true patriarch for his family.

In addition to his wife, H.L. is survived by his sons, Derek Atwood and Harry Atwood Jr., both of Farrell, PA; granddaughter that he reared, Kahmia Atwood of Farrell, PA; grandson, Dre’Von McCoy of Brookfield, OH; granddaughter, Azaria Atwood of Bethlehem, PA; sisters, Gearlean Williams, Cheryl A. Atwood, both of Bethlehem, PA, Darlene Atwood of Roanoke, VA, Ida Mae Burley and husband Anthony of Tucson, AZ, and Lonna Gilmer and husband Pernall of Erie, PA; brothers, Jimmie D. Atwood and wife Laveeta of Farrell, PA and Larry Atwood and wife Kathy of Bethlehem, PA; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughters, Clorice Danielle Atwood, Nicole Danielle Atwood, and Tiffany Dosharae Atwood; sister, Ella Atwood; brothers, Simmon “Sonny” Atwood Jr. and Clifton “Poochie” Atwood; nephew, Gary “Atwood” Hopson; and niece, Lena Williams.

Visitation will be held Friday from 10:00am to 11:00am at St. John United Holy Church, 1207 Moravia St, New Castle, PA, followed by a homegoing service at 11:00am at church, officiated by Reverend Clarence Tucker.

Interment will take place in Morefield Cemetery.
