Obituary for Dandy Iozzi

Dandy  Iozzi
Dandy Iozzi, 90, of New Castle, passed away the evening of September 19, 2015 at Jameson Memorial Hospital. Born on October 28, 1924 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Emedio and Nancy Clementone Iozzi. Surviving at home is his beloved wife of over 65 wonderful years, the former Dolores Francis, whom he married on August 26, 1950.

After 46 years of working, Dandy retired as a printer for the New Castle News. He previously served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church. Dandy enjoyed golfing, bowling, gardening, and woodworking.

In addition to his wife, Dandy is survived by his children, David Iozzi of New Castle, Richard Iozzi and wife Christine of San Antonio, TX, and Lisa Flores and husband Artemio of Columbus, OH; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Phillip Iozzi and Dr. Louis Iozzi, and sister, Helen Iozzi.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home Wednesday at 9:30am to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Joseph the Worker Church. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform military rites at the funeral home.

Entombment will take place in Parkside Mausoleum.
