Thomas D. Quimby, 79, of 145 Cambridge Street passed away July 5, 2012 in Jameson Hospital.

He was born June 19, 1933 in New Castle and was the son of the late John and Josephine Mulroy Quimby.

In earlier years, Mr. Quimby worked as a draftsman. He was a longtime member of Alcoholics Anonymous and a member of St. Mary Church of Mary Mother of Hope Parish. He enjoyed watching sports and in earlier years he coached little league baseball. His greatest joy was the time he spent with his family.

Thomas is survived by six children, Maria Allison and husband Larry of New Castle, Leonard Quimby and wife Shana of New Castle, Robert Quimby and wife Sadie of Washington, DC, Thomas Quimby, Patty Doran and Leslie Spooner all of East Palestine, OH; a sister, Patricia Frankovitch of Erie; several grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daugther, Connie Chamberlain; two brothers, John Quimby and Martin Quimby and his former wife, Theresa Garuccio Quimby Golba.

Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 - 3:00 PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 941 S. Mill Street.

A blessing service will be held Monday at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Fr. Nick Vaskov of St. Vitus Church will officiate.
