Obituary for Gladys M. Kern

Gladys M. Kern, 78, of New Castle, passed away the evening of February 5, 2015 at Silver Oaks. Born on November 1, 1936 in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of Samuel and Anna Daniels Hoover. She also was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Kern, in 1991.

Gladys previously worked as a secretary for Duquesne Light. She was a member of Holy Sepulcher Church.

Gladys is survived by her daughter, Karolyn Ealy of Easley, SC; brothers, Samuel Hoover and Daniel Hoover, both of Spring Hill, FL; sisters, Anna Kamphaus of Spring Hill, FL, Charlotte Hoburg of Allison Park, PA, Almeda Blankenship of Springfield, OH, and Josie Brent of Spring Hill, FL; and grandchildren, Tyler Kern, James Andrew Ealy Jr., and Anthony Jordan Ealy, all of Butler, PA. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Interment took place at Lakewood Memorial Gardens.
