Fred H.  Navarra
Fred H. Navarra, 83, of New Wilmington, PA passed away the morning of July 24, 2012, after an extended illness, peacefully in his home.

Born of Hillsville, PA on March 9, 1929, Fred was the son of the late Henry and Adeline Miller Navarra. Surviving is his wife, the former Sandra Young, whom he married on December 30, 1993.

He was a graduate of New Castle Area High School and a graduate of Westminster College. Fred was a prominent insurance businessman from when he started his business, Navarra Insurance Services, Inc. on his mother's front porch in 1962 until 2007 when he suffered a serious car accident ending his career. He loved his job immensely and was very thankful for the people who did business with him. He was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and a member of the Epworth Methodist Church. He loved the outdoors including golf, hunting, snowmobiling, building bonfires and walking his two dogs every morning before most people are up. Most importantly, he cherished just hanging outside with his kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include his former wife, the former Delores DiLullo, whom he married on August 3, 1948, of New Castle; three daughters, Charlene Navarra Shelledy of Denver, CO; Linda D'Augostine and husband Carl of New Castle; Joanne Navarra of Charlottesville, VA: his son, Richard Navarra and wife Paula of Wexford, PA; former daughter-in-law, Christine Navarra, his niece, Lynn Anderson, twelve grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and his two babies, Salt and Halo the dogs.

In addition to his parents, Fred is preceded in death by his sister, Janet Ferraro.

Friends and family will be received on Friday from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd.

Services will be held on Friday at 7:00PM at the funeral home. Pastors Rob and Mickey Cypher of the Victory Christian Center in New Wilmington, PA. will officiate.
