Obituary for Sylvia M. Ferrare (Cicerone)

Sylvia M. Ferrare, 86, of Neshannock Township passed away the evening of March 7, 2020 at The Haven Convalescent Home.

Born on August 17, 1933 in New Castle she was the daughter of the late Sullivan and Louise Palus Cicerone.

On August 20, 1955 she married her beloved husband, Angelo J. Ferrare, Jr. He preceded her in death on November 14, 1995.

Sylvia had worked at the Social Security Administration Office as a claims representative until she retired.

Sylvia was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Site.

Sylvia had been a volunteer at Jameson Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed cooking, doing crossword puzzles and visiting with friends at Challenges.

Sylvia is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Geramita and her husband Gary of New Castle, Richard Ferrare and his wife Kathy of Yorktowne, Virginia, one sister, Sally Golis, of Phoenix, Arizona, and three grandchildren,

Matthew Geramita and his wife Emily, Olivia Ferrare and Erin Ferrare.

In addition to her parents and husband, Sylvia was preceded in death by her brother, Dr. Ralph Cicerone and one granddaughter, Angela Ferrare.

Visitation will be on Tuesday 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road.

A procession will leave the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. for Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Site where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Father Joseph McCaffrey, Pastor and Deacon John Carran will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery.
