Obituary for Rocco Romeo Jr.

Rocco Romeo, Jr. 83, formerly of Hillsville passed away the morning of December 24, 2019 at his residence in Campbell, Ohio, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on January 23, 1936 in Hillsville, Pa he was the son of the late Rocco Romeo, Sr. and Jennie Feo Romeo.

On September 17, 1960 Rocco married his beloved wife the former Mary Jane Tarnoci. She preceded him in death on August 26, 2010 but are now together again.

Rocco had worked for Youngstown Sheet & Tube and then Gennaro Pavers.

Rocco was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. James Site.

Rocco loved being in the outdoors, hunting, fishing camping and working in his garden. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan. He also enjoyed cooking and shared his recipe for cavatelli with his granddaughters, who now make them like pros. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, Rocco’s greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Rocco is survived by his daughters, Roxanne Romeo of Campbell, OH, Nancy Butch and her husband Frank, Jr. of Edinburg, Lorrie Millette and her husband Henry of Campbell, OH, two brothers, Richard Romeo of Bessemer, David Romeo of Youngstown, OH, and two grandchildren, Nicole and Jessica Millette. Rocco will also be greatly missed by his dog Bumper.

In addition to his wife, Rocco was preceded in death by two brothers, Tony Romeo, Sr. and Joseph Romeo Sr.

Visitation will be on Friday 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road.

A procession will leave the funeral home on Saturday at 9:15 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, St. James Site. Father Victor Molka, Jr. will officiate.

Burial will be in St. James Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend a special Thank You to the Harbor Light Hospice team for excellent care and compassion. And a Heartfelt Thanks to Kelly for her Amazing support and care of their Dad.
