Rev. Larry F. Llewellyn, Pastor of The Hoover Heights Alliance Church in South New Castle Boro went to be with His Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 29th.

Larry was born on April 30, 1953 in New Castle to the late Frederick and Eleanor Johnson Llewellyn.

On December 27, 1975 Larry married his beloved wife, the former Terry Phillips. She survives at home.

Larry was a loving husband, father, and the best pappy any child could ask for. Larry served as Pastor of Hoover Heights for 38 years. He faithfully served in the Christian and Missionary Alliance for 44 years, serving at Beccaria and Coal Run before coming to Hoover Heights. He served as “Grandpa” for the Royal Family Kids Camp. He enjoyed Monday night kids club, and loved all the kids. He was actively involved in Shenango Baccalaureate Services, and if there were banquets for various sports teams at Shenango School District you probably would have seen him do the opening or closing prayer. He loved all his boys in the Boro, and prayed for them every day. Larry loved to go hunting, and spending time at camp with his family. He enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports, and just spending time with them. He was so thankful to see and hold his newest grandson, T.J. He was loved by all who knew him and he always had a smile on his face. He was always willing to help anyone in need, and he had touched so many lives with his love and compassion. Larry’s generous heart is truly an irreplaceable gift. He will be greatly missed by his family, church family, and all that knew him.

In addition to his wife, Larry is survived by his sons, Rev. James Llewellyn and his wife Cindy of Murrysville, Pa., Michael Llewellyn and his wife Kalie of Brownsville, Pa., his sister, Donna Putnam of Surprise, AZ, four grandchildren, Dylan, Lilly, Aliya and T.J., his mother-in-law, Pearl Phillips and sister-in-laws, Debbie and Ken Thompson and Louise Llewellyn.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brother, David Llewellyn.

There will be a private visitation for the family on Monday at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home, 3000 Wilmington Road.

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at First Alliance Church, Mission Meade Road. Rev. James Llewellyn and Rev. Hiram Westover will officiate.

Burial will be in Castle View Memorial Garden.

The family suggest that donations be made to the Hoover Heights Christian Missionary Alliance Church or Royal Family Kids Camp, 1947 Morris St., New Castle, Pa. 16102

What a wonderful heritage that Pastor Larry has passed on to us. May He find us faithful as well. We find encouragement in the words of the angel at the tomb of our Lord Jesus, "He is not here, He is risen." We know that Pastor Larry is risen indeed. May the Lord Jesus walk with you each moment and be a constant source of encouragement. Blessings, Andrew and Esther Schaeffer, missionaries, Burkina Faso

I am so very sad about hearing of the Preacher's passing. Please accept our deepest condolences. I grew up in the Hoover Heights Church as a child so I will never forget him and his family. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Love, The Clouser Family (Amy Myers)

In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. James 2:17

Dear family of Larry,
I'm sorry for your loss. I met Larry this year working with him to put together a virtual baccalaureate ceremony for Shenango High School. I really appreciate all his work for that over the years. I only talked to him over the phone, but it was so easy to like and respect him. May God give you all peace through this time. Take care.
