Obituary for Norman N. DeGennaro
Norman N. DeGennaro, 88, of New Castle, PA, died May 5, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born December 28, 1932 in New Castle, Pennsylvania the son of Charles and Bridget (Luongo) DeGennaro, they precede him in death
Mr. DeGennaro worked for LTV Steel retiring after 36 years. Early on he enjoyed building things such as houses, sheds, furniture and cabinets. He loved to woodwork and was very good at most trades like plumbing and electrical work. He liked to make wine, tinker on the computer, and loved his pet dogs. He was an avid football fan and never missed a Sunday Steeler game. He also enjoyed cooking, going out to eat, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his long-time partner Jackie Johnson of New Castle, one son, Norman C. De Gennaro of San Marcos, CA, a sister, Janet Sprankle of Niles, OH and two grandchildren, Nicholas and Lauren.
In addition to his parents, Norman was also preceded in death by his first wife Theresa M. Parente, sisters Margaret Lombardo and Viola Conn, and three half-brothers Charles DeGennaro, Joe DeGennaro, and Larry DeGennaro.
Visitation will be held at Ed & Don Decarbo Funeral Home, 3000 Wilmington Road, New Castle, on Friday, May 14, 2021 from 11am to 1pm.
Visitors are required to adhere to CDC guide lines regarding the wearing of face masks and practicing social distancing.
A Blessing Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Deacon John Carran will officiate.
Burial will be at Castleview Cemetery.
