Norma J. Flickner, 85, passed away the evening of November 5, 2018 at Avalon Place.

Born April 26, 1933 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late George and Alice Ussleton Swadener.

On August 16, 1960, she married her beloved husband, Edward R. Flickner who preceded her in death on August 27, 1985.

Norma had worked as a nurses aide at Golden Hill Nursing Home. Norma enjoyed reading and watching western movies on T.V. and in her early years, loved to dance.

Norma is survived by her daughters, Deborah Bell of Boyers, PA, Sarah Gray of New Castle, Paula Boron of Pulaski, Roberta Conti of Lorris, SC,and Jean Ann Recklaw of Long, SC, two sons, Richard Flickner of New Castle and Charles E. Flickner of Pulaski, 28 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Norma was preceded in death by one son, Robert Flickner, her step daughter, Shirley Bondi, two step sons, Edward Flickner, and Jack Flickner , two brothers, Melvin Swadener and Don Swadener.

Visitation will be Thursday, 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road, where a service will follow at 1:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Marsha Parrish.

Interment will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
