Obituary for Michael M. Joseph

Michael M. Joseph, 102, of New Castle passed away on July 26, 2020 at his residence due to natural causes.

Born in Homestead, PA on January 28, 1918, Michael was the son of the late Moowid and Raya Fakhr Joseph.

Preceding him in death on April 23, 2014 was his beloved and devoted wife, the former Sara R. Saad, whom he married on October 22, 1944.

Michael was a proud veteran of WWII serving his country as a Staff Sgt. in the U.S. Army while stationed in India.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Maronite Catholic Church and the Church of Beloved Disciple in Grove City.

Michael owned and operated Michael M. Joseph Beverage Distributing in Grove City for over twenty nine years. He enjoyed golfing, and was an avid sports fan of all the Pittsburgh sports teams and the New Castle High School basketball team. Michael lived for his family, children and grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.

Michael is survived by his children, Gary M. Joseph and his wife Elaine, Marilyn A. Patrick and her husband Ronald, Karen A. Ionta and her husband Dom, all of New Castle, Michael D. Joseph of Pittsburgh, his brother, Richard Joseph of New Castle, his sister, Nancy Saad of New Castle, thirteen grandchildren, Alisa Heath (Rob), Kristi Perrotta (Louis), Lauri Wozniak (Brian), Michael G. Joseph (Jamie), Nicole Memo (Michael), Dr. Ronald Patrick (Kristin), Andrea Shelton (Bryan), Diana Kulbacki (Joseph), Amy Ault (Tyler), Erika Carlini (Marco), Michelle DiMuccio (Joseph), Jodi Giordano (Sam), Richard Humphrey, thirty great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Michael is preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph, John, George, Thomas, Charles and Edward Joseph.

Due to the current health situation, visitation is private for the family at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd.

A private Funeral Liturgy will be held for the family at St. John the Baptist Maronite Catholic Church conducted by Rev. Father Claude Franklin.

Entombment will take place at Parkside Cemetery and Mausoleum.

The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform military rites at the mausoleum.
