Obituary for Joanne Concetta Mitchell (DeCarbo)
Joanne Concetta Mitchell, 88 of Neshannock Township passed away on February 19, 2022.
Born on January 5, 1934 in New Castle she was the daughter of the late Charles and Constance Maielli DeCarbo.
On April 19, 1952 Joanne married her beloved husband, Jack E. Mitchell. He preceded her in death on October 18, 1981.
Joanne had worked for WBZY Radio for many years.
She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Camillus Church, where she served on the St. Camillus Guild.
Joanne also volunteered for Jameson Hospital Guild, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Axillary as a Past Grand Officer and Past State President. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Joanne’s greatest joy was the time she spent with her family.
Joanne is survived by her children, Steven Mitchell (Gayle) of New Castle and Robert Mitchell of Virginia Beach, VA, one sister, Connie Brooks of Florida, four grandchildren, Lisa Marie Mitchell, Jason Mitchell, Bonnie Nichols and Patrick Mitchell, five great-grandchildren, Aiden Nichols, Isabella Nichols, Sofia Santangelo, Gavin Mitchell and Jocelyn Mitchell.
In addition to her parents and husband, Joanne was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas DeCarbo and Charles “Buddy” DeCarbo.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 5th 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road.
A Blessing Service will be held on Saturday, March 5th at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Entombment will be at Parkside Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
