Obituary for Joan M. Passalinqua (DeSanti)
Joan M. Passalinqua, 84 of New Castle passed away the afternoon of August 16, 2020 at The Haven Convalescent Home.
Born on February 9, 1936 in New Castle she was the daughter of the late John and Rose Panella DeSanti.
Joan was also preceded in death by her husband, Ben Passalinqua.
She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Site.
In the early years Joan had worked for A & M Supermarket. She then worked for Jameson Hospital as a dietary aide.
Joan always enjoyed visiting with her neighbors. A loving Aunt, her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family and friends. Joan had also enjoyed time with her faithful pet dogs.
Joan is survived by her nieces and nephews, John DeSanti and his wife Amy, Elaine DeSanti and Gary DeSanti and his wife Mary and several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Joan was preceded in death by her brother, Donald DeSanti, Sr. and two sisters, Dorothy Maggie and Mary Lou DeSanti.
Due to the current health situation within our community, the family will hold a private visitation at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Site. Father Anthony Sciarappa will officiate.
Burial will be at Castle View Memorial Gardens.
