Obituary for Jennie "Irene" Cubellis (Conti)
Jennie “Irene” Cubellis, 94, of New Castle passed away the afternoon of October 22, 2019 at Quality of Life New Castle.
Born on December 8, 1924 in New Castle she was the daughter of the late William and Florence Orlando Conti.
On December 27, 1943 she married her beloved husband, John P. Cubellis, Sr. who preceded her in death on March 30, 2005.
Jennie was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus.
Jennie enjoyed cooking and baking. She especially enjoyed crocheting and making Afghans for everyone in the family. A loving wife, mother and grandmother her greatest joy was the time she spent with all of her family.
Jennie is survived by her children, John P. “Buster” Cubellis, Jr. and his wife Francine of New Castle, PA Robert W. Cubellis and his wife Marjory of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Donald Cubellis and his wife Amy of Mercer, PA, her sister, Anita Ferrese of Plantation Acres, FL, ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jennie was preceded in death by her sisters, Norma Iervoline, Clara Assid, Pauline “Tootsie” Graziani, Rose Bordonaro and her daughter-in-law, Anita Cubellis.
Visitation will be on Friday 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road.
A procession will leave the funeral home on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Site. Father Joseph McCaffrey will officiate.
Entombment will be in Parkside Mausoleum.
