Obituary for Jamesa L. "Jaye" Presnar (Bovo)

Jamesa (Jaye) L. Bovo Presnar 70, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of December 17, 2019 at Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh with her son, sister and brother by her side.

Born July 30, 1949 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late James L. and Betty J. Bovo.

Jamesa was married to the late Stanley A. Presnar for 38 years. He preceded her in death on February 4, 2019.

She was of Roman Catholic faith and a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Joseph the Worker Church Site.

Mrs. Presnar will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Jamesa was very involved in her son and grandchildren’s lives and activities. She loved spending time in the pool with her grandchildren.

She was a 1969 graduate of New Castle High School.

She was a professional hairdresser for over 50 years, owning her own beauty shop,” Jaye’s Beauty Shoppe”. She retired in 2015.

Jaye was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, especially the Penguins. She enjoyed playing games on her tablet, the lottery and going to the casino and traveling back in the day, mostly trips to Las Vegas with her husband.

Jamesa is survived by her loving son, Vincent Presnar and his wife Annette of New Castle, three grandchildren, Anthony, Isabella and Adriana all of New Castle, Granddoggies, Nico and Bailey, three sisters, Dr. Mary Jane Bovo, Noreen Macri and Michele Loughman all of New Castle, one brother, Marc Bovo and wife Renee of New Castle, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jamesa was preceded in death by her brother, Dominic J. Bovo.

Visitation will be on Thursday 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 South Mill St.

A procession will leave the funeral home on Friday at 9:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Joseph the Worker Site. Father Brendan Dawson will officiate.

Burial will be in Parkside Cemetery.
