Obituary for James Drenning

James Drenning, 74, of Neshannock Township passed away the afternoon of March 21, 2022 at UPMC Jameson.

Born on October 8, 1947 in Windber, PA he was the son of the late Roy and Eula (Thomas) Drenning.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-two years the former Lois Bender.

Jim had worked as a State Corrections Officer for SCI in Somerset, PA. He also worked for Bethlehem Steel in Johnstown, PA.

He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army.

Jim enjoyed being in the outdoors, hunting fishing and mowing his grass. A loving husband, father and grandfather, Jim’s greatest joy was the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his two sons, James Lee Drenning and Thomas (Candice) Drenning, and three grandchildren, Harper, Hannah and Faith. Jim was one of several siblings including baby twins, Charles, Jr., Roy, Jr., Eugene, Donald, Norman, Cloyd, Rodney, Ray, Terry, Jack, Lela, Gladys, Becky, Judy, Cindy, Patty, Angela and Lisa.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his step mother, Iona Wadsworth.

Visitation will be on Monday 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road.

A service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Richard Nero will officiate. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Military Rites at the funeral home on Monday.

Burial will be in Parkside Cemetery.
