Obituary for James F. Campbell

James F. Campbell, 84, of Neshannock Township passed away on January 5, 2021 at his residence.

Born on January 19, 1936 in New Castle he was the son of the late James and Ida Mae Hites Campbell.

On October 13, 1956, Jim married his beloved wife, the former Dolores (Dee) Ferrare. She survives at home.

Jim was a loyal employee at Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company for forty-two years until he retired.

He was a Man of Faith and used his musical talent by singing in church choirs and with the Jim Campbell Trio for thirty years. Jim was an avid animal lover. He would feed or take in any stray. His backyard was home to many birds, chipmunks and groundhogs. It was not an unusual sight to have a family of squirrels eat out of his hands. He enjoyed watching the birds. Jim loved his dog Chelsie. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Jim’s greatest joy was the time he spent with his family. Jim was a friend to everyone he met. He had a way of keeping the people around him smiling. He will be dearly missed by his family.

In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his three daughters, Jodi (Robert) Wilson, Jaimie (Jurgen) Kopp, and Janet (Joe) Nugent, his grandchildren, Robbie (Katie) Wilson, Laura Wilson, Timothy Wilson (Emily), Jonnathan Wilson (Shelby), David Kopp, Curtis Nugent (Melissa) and Christopher Nugent (ClaudiAnne), and five great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Friday 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 984 W. Maitland Lane, New Castle, Pa. A service will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the church. Rev. John Yergan will officiate.

Visitors are asked to adhere to CDC guidelines regarding using face masks and practicing social distancing.

Entombment will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road.
