Obituary for Henry R. Ferrare

Henry R. Ferrare, of Shenango Township passed away the morning of May 31, 2019 at the Haven Convalescent Home.

Born on June 27, 1924 in New Castle he was the son of the late Angelo Ferrare Sr. and Josephine Chill Ferrare.

Henry is survived by his beloved wife, the former Norma N. DeLuca who he married on February 14, 1953.

Henry had worked for Rockwell International Axle Division for forty years before he retired.

He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church.

Henry had served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy during WWI II serving in Guam and Iwo Jima. Henry enjoyed bowling, golfing and working in his garden. His greatest joy was the time he spent with his family.

In addition to his wife Henry is survived by his children, Kathy Conti of New Castle, David Ferrare and his wife Millie of Miami, FL and Diane George and her husband Ted of New Castle, his sister, Mary Merlino of Canfield, OH, and five grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by three brothers, Ben, Angelo Jr., and Samuel Ferrare.

A private Blessing Service will be held at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road officiated by Deacon John Carran.

The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform military rites at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Parkside Cemetery.
