Obituary for Frank "Barney" Borio

Frank (Barney) Borio, 95, of West Middlesex, Pa. passed away the evening of May 24, 2021 at his residence.

Born on March 31, 1926 in New Castle he was the son of the late Frank and Ethel Allen Borio.

Barney is survived by his beloved wife the former Antonetta (Ann) Damiano, who he married on October 6, 1951.

Barney had worked at Mesta Machine in New Castle. He then moved to Florida where he worked as a Supervisor for the water treatment plant in Broward County until he retired.

Barney had proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corp during World War II.

Barney was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd in West Middlesex.

After retirement Barney and his family moved to West Middlesex. Barney enjoyed flying and at one time owned his own plane. He enjoyed going to Classic and Antique car shows. Barney had served as a judge at many of the classic car shows he attended. Barney had owned his own horses and loved to ride whenever he could. Barney also served as Scout Master at the Elks Lodge in New Castle. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Barney’s greatest joy was the time he spent with his family.

In addition to his wife, Barney is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Robinson of West Middlesex, his brother, Darrell Borio and his sister, Sheryl Paglialong, both of New Castle, two grandchildren, Tessa Robinson and Trevor Robinson and three great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Barney was preceded in death by his son, Frank E. (Tippy) Borio, Jr., his son-in-law, Tommy G. Robinson and his sister Darlene Warso.

Visitation will be on Thursday 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Military Rites on Thursday at the funeral home at 5:00 p.m.

Visitors are required to adhere to CDC guidelines regarding the wearing of face masks and practicing social distancing.

Friends and Family will meet on Friday at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 3613 Sharon Road, West Middlesex, Pa. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Father Glenn Whitman, Pastor and Father Frank Mitolo, cousin of Barney will officiate.

Entombment will be in Parkside Mausoleum.
