Obituary for Evelyn G. Vitanovich

Evelyn Grace (Fair) Vitanovich, 87 of New Castle, PA passed away the morning of April 10, 2019, with her son by her side.

Born in New Castle on February 18, 1932 she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Marino Fair. On August 6, 1955 she married the late Mike Vitanovich of Campbell, OH.

Evelyn made her home in Campbell for forty six years and worked in the catering field and attended St. Joseph the Provider Church. Upon the death of her husband, she returned to New Castle and was a member of St. Vitus Catholic Church. Evelyn enjoyed attending the annual St. Vitus Festival, playing bingo, and listening to polka music. She was also a fan of country music.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Michael Vitanovich (Alyssa Pirain) of Pittsburgh, and a daughter Kathleen (Anthony) Harchick of FL, her sister, Laura Caravella of New Castle, three grandchildren, Johnny Vitanovich of Pittsburgh, Anthony and Adriana Harchick of FL. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph, Thomas, and John (Jack) Fair, her sisters, Margaret Fair, Evelyn Fair, Marie Diana, and Dorothy Fazzone.

Evelyn will be greatly missed by her family.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 17, 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home, 3000 Wilmington Road.

A procession will leave the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. at St. Vitus Church. Father William Siple will officiate.

Burial will be in Parkside Cemetery.
