Obituary for Eric J. Maitland
Eric J. Maitland, 51, of Hickory Township passed away the evening of October 1, 2021 at UPMC Magee Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Eric was born on August 18, 1970 in Trenton, New Jersey. He is survived by his parents, William L.E. and Dorothea Tkacs Maitland of North Carolina.
Eric had worked as an independent electrician. He was currently Superintendent of Grounds at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds.
Eric was a 1988 graduate of Laurel High School. He was an avid outdoors man, enjoying hunting and gardening. Eric also enjoyed cooking. A loving son, father, brother, uncle and fiance’, Eric’s greatest joy was the time he spent with his family.
Eric was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Joseph the Worker Church.
In addition to his parents, Eric is survived by his son, Gaige Maitland, of New Castle, fiance’ Mundy Myers-Priscilla of New Castle, one brother, William (Bill) A. Maitland (Rosalyn) of Hermitage, one sister, Taryn Lynn Maitland of North Carolina, three nieces, one nephew and one great niece.
Visitation will be on Wednesday 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road.
A Blessing Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. conducted by Deacon John Carran of Holy Spirit Parish.
Burial will be in Mt. Hermon Cemetery.
