Obituary for Emery J. Bianchi

Emery J. Bianchi, 94, of Bessemer, PA, passed away the evening of May 31, 2019 at Heritage Valley Hospital.

Born in Union Bridge, MD on November 24, 1924, Emery was the son of the late Santino and Mary Capuani Bianchi.

Preceding him in death on August 25, 2012, is his wife, the former Jane G. Klejnoski whom he married on January 21, 1948.

Emery was a veteran of the U.S. Army proudly serving during WWII while stationed in Europe. He served as a Heavy Mortar Crewman where he earned a WWII Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and a European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with four Bronze Stars.

Upon returning from service, Emery worked at the Bessemer Cement Company as a heavy machine operator working his way up to No. 1 Machinist until retiring in 1983.

He was a loving and devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.

He is survived by his five children, Barbara Garcia of Mesquite, TX, Tom Bianchi and wife Linda of Bryson City, NC, Christine Daily of Minerva, OH, Diane Book and husband Gary of Colorado Springs, CO, Richard Bianchi of Bessemer, PA; his brother, Eli Bianchi; sister-in-law, Jean Bianchi; six grandchildren, Jennifer Connor, Mark Bott, Stacey Eaton, Jessica Hudson, Nicole Book, Johnathon Bianchi and four great grandchildren, Grayson and Isabella Bott and Victor and Genevieve Eaton.

In addition to his parents and wife, Emery is preceded in death by his brothers, Frank, Gildo, Daniel and Louis Bianchi and his sister, Mary Cover.

Visitation is Thursday from 10am to 12pm at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd followed by a service at the funeral home at 12pm conducted by Rev. Richard Nero.

The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform military rites at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at Graceland Cemetery.
