Obituary for Eileen Iwanejko (Cyr)
Eileen Iwanejko, 81, of New Castle passed away the afternoon of August 5, 2019 at her residence.
Born on November 14, 1937 in Eagle Lake, Maine she was the daughter of the late Harold and Exilia Doucette Cyr.
On September 10, 1955 Eileen married her beloved husband, Joseph R. Iwanejko and he preceded her in death on December 30, 2010.
Eileen was a faithful member of The Jehovah Witness New Castle Congregation. Her life was about serving Jehovah and she was an active member up until the very end.
Eileen enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and especially going out to eat with her friends.
Eileen is survived by her children, Sherry Goodge and her husband Keith of New Castle, Cindy Hoafat and her husband Armand (Chino) of Juno Beach, FL, Terry Iwanejko and his wife Bonnie of Statesville, NC, Joseph Iwanejko and his wife Sandra of King, NC, eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Eileen was preceded in death by her brothers, Harold Cyr and Charles Cyr, her sisters, Birdina Jordan, Jean LaFreniere and Elizabeth Cleroux and her grandson, D.J. Martin.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 25th at 3:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness, 2020 Willow Way, New Castle. The service will be conducted by Dave Sickafuse.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road.
