Obituary for Edrige M. Cifra (Mastren)

Edrige M. Cifra, 98, passed away the afternoon of May 8, 2021 at Orchard Manor in Grove City.

Born on October 21, 1922 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Aurelio and Margaret Rotunno Mastren.

On April 23, 1949 Edrige married her beloved husband, Frederick Cifra. He preceded her in death on July 4, 1993.

Edrige had worked at Johnson Bronze until she retired after forty years.

She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Camillus Site.

Edrige was an avid reader. She enjoyed traveling and taking bus trips. She was member of the Friendship Street Originals Women’s Club for many years. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Edrige’s greatest joy was the time she spent doing things with her family, especially birthdays and picnics.

Edrige is survived by two daughters, Karen Prince (Kerry) of Stoneboro, Pa. and Ann Andrews of Pittsburgh, Pa., two step-granddaughters, Bethany Prince and husband, David Johnson, and Elyssa Prince and husband David Stainbrook, four step great-grandchildren, Cooper and Bennett Johnson and Emery and Elliot Stainbrook.

In addition to her mother and husband, Edrige was preceded in death by her brother, Henry Mastren and her sister, Marie J. Navarra, her niece Marcia Navarra Kaestner and her nephew, David Navarra and his wife Monica.

Visitation will be on Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road.

Visitors are required to adhere to CDC guidelines regarding the wearing of masks and practicing social distancing.

A Blessing Service will be held on Thursday at the funeral home at 12:00 p.m. Deacon John Carran will officiate.

Burial will be in Castleview Memorial Gardens.
