Obituary for Caroline A. Anastasia (Cucitrone)

"My Lord went before me, and now I join him in our Father's house"

Caroline Anastasia, 85, of Neshannock Township passed peacefully in the comfort of her home with her husband and children by her side.

Born on March 6, 1935 in New Castle she was the daughter of the late Nunzio and Angeline Piscitelli Cucitrone.

Caroline is survived by her beloved husband, Albert Anastasia who she married on September 10, 1955.

In the early years Caroline worked in the meat department at A & M Supermarket and later for Shop n Save.

She was an active member of New Life Baptist Church.

The following was written by Caroline’s oldest grandchild, Angela Caiazza . It represents how we all feel about her and who she truly was….
“My grandmother Caroline passed away early morning Dec 29th peacefully at home after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s eight years ago. She was the biggest influence in my life and the greatest woman on this earth. She imparted to me everything I ever needed. Her relationship with Jesus was solid and she always encouraged me to stay so close to Him. She handle life with such grace, her marriage was like no other I’ve ever seen and a great example to me - even till the very end my grandparents love only grew greater. My grandfather loved her more gently than ever through these hardest years. She was afraid but yet so brave when she was first diagnosed. She trusted the Lord with everything in her. And she still laughed and danced until she couldn’t anymore. I see God all in them, through them and all around them. God gives us such remarkable strength. He graciously gives us goodness in all things. He is pure love and evident without words. And His love overcomes our fear. A life with Him is SO different than a life without Him. Grateful falls short to describe how lucky I was to have this woman as my grandma. Her love will carry me so much further than one’s lifetime. Such a powerful force to have been loved by her. Please pray for my grandpa - this is his bride of nearly 70 years whom he loved with every ounce of his being”

In addition to her husband, Caroline is survived by her children, Gerald Anastasia (Terri), Lynn Anastasia, Laurie Anastasia all of New Castle, Angela Haybarger (Harry Joe) of West Pittsburg, her two brothers, Carmen Cucitrone of New Castle and George Cucitrone of Rhode Island, twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

Entombment will take place at Castle View Memorial Gardens.
