Obituary for Arturo Mascio

Arturo Mascio, 87, of Neshannock Township passed away the morning of June 23, 2020 at UPMC Jameson.

Born on July 14, 1932 in Rivisondoli, L’Aquila, Italy he was the son of the late Nicola and Ercolina Casbarra Mascio

Arturo is survived by his beloved wife, the former Maria Romito. They were married on September 28, 1958.

In the early years Arturo had worked for the Crane Company and Pentex. He later retired from Neshannock School District.

Arturo was a dedicated member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Site where he served as an usher for over forty years.

Arturo was known as “Mr. Handyman” as he was always up to the challenge of fixing things and was ready to help someone whenever they would need help. A loving husband, father, and grandfather his greatest joy was time he spent with his family.

In addition to his wife, Arturo is survived by his children, Ercolina Kennedy and her husband Gregory, Nicholas Mascio, Linda Thomas and her husband, Michael J. all of New Castle, his sister, Antonietta Mascio of Italy, five grandchildren, Allyson Kennedy, Vanessa Kennedy and Stephen Kennedy, and Michael-Arthur Thomas and Miranda Thomas and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in Calgary, Canada and Italy.

In addition to his parents, Arturo was preceded in death by two infant brothers, Fernando and Luciano Mascio, his sisters, Emerina (Mascio) DiMarino, Anna (Mascio) Ramicone and two brother-in-laws, Salvatore DiMarino and Alfred Ramicone.

Honoring his wishes, the visitation is private for the family with a Blessing Service conducted by Father Brendan Dawson at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road.

Entombment will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
