Obituary for Anthony B. Galiano

Anthony B. Galiano, 96, of New Castle passed away the morning of July 2, 2019 at Rhodes Estates.

He was born on January 1, 1923 in New Castle to the late Sam and Mary Feola Galiano.

Tony was married to the former Nancy Julian on June 2, 1951 and she preceded him in death on November 26, 2013.

Tony had worked for the B&O Railroad and then for Lockley Machine Co.

Tony was a veteran of the U.S. Army proudly serving his country during WWII. In honoring fellow veterans, for over fifty years, he would place flags on the graves at St. Lucy Cemetery.

He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish. Tony enjoyed making wine, gardening and cooking.

Tony is survived by his children Ronald A. Galiano and his wife Pam of McMurray, Pa., Deanna L. Vitale and her husband Patsy of New Castle, his brother-in-law Vince Julian of Shaker Heights, OH, three grandchildren, Amanda Vitale, Kristin Galiano and her husband Alex Snyder, and Brittany Galiano.

In addition to his parents and wife Tony was preceded in death by his brothers, Samuel Galiano, and Guy Galiano, Sr., his sisters, Thresa Walters, Frances Farrone and Jenny Singer.

A private Blessing Service will be held at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road. Deacon John Carran of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate.

Entombment will be in Parkside Mausoleum.
