Obituary for Ann Debelak Piatek

Ann Debelak Piatek, 97, of New Castle passed away the evening of March 22, 2019 at the Jameson Care Center.

Born in New Castle on May 3, 1921, Ann was the daughter of the late Thomas and Anna Skulic Debelak.

Ann was preceded in death by her loving husband of forty six years, Theodore Piatek, whom she married on January 6, 1969.

Ann was a former member of St. Michael’s and Madonna Church and was currently a member of Mary Mother of Hope Parish. Ann was the operator and owner of American Cleaners. She loved to dance and was an avid bowler. Ann was also a member of the Polish Falcon Club.

Ann is survived by her daughter, Patricia Colella and husband Francis of Hilton Head Island, S.C., nieces, Barbara Jaworowski and husband Bernard of New Castle, Frances Billen of Masury, OH, and her nephew, Anthony Piatek and wife Christine of New Castle.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ann is preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Nocera, Kathryn Germick, and Eleanor Cassella, a brother, Thomas Debelak and her former husband, John J. Davicki.

Visitation is Monday from 7pm to 9pm at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd.

A procession will leave the funeral home on Tuesday morning at 9:30am for St. Mary’s Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am officiated by Rev. Father Victor Molka.

Burial will take place at Madonna Cemetery.
