Obituary for Jack E. Campbell Sr.

Jack E. Campbell, Sr., 92, of New Castle passed away the morning of November 13, 2019 at Ellwood City Hospital.

Born on January 25, 1927 in New Castle he was the son of the late Wesley and Margaret Clark Campbell.
Jack was married to the Love of his Life and Best Friend the former Augusta (Kitty) Fiedler. She survives at home.

At 81 years of age Jack retired from New Castle Refractories Company as a Draftsman.

Jack had served his country as a member of the United States Navy during World War II. He was awarded the Victory Medal and American Theater Ribbon.

Jack had been a member of Third Presbyterian Church and was now attending New Life Baptist Church.

An outdoorsman he enjoyed hunting. A true Gentleman, he was a devoted and loving husband who enjoyed dancing with his wife Kitty. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather his family was always first and foremost.

In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by his daughter, Diane Benedict and her husband, Bob Caughey, his son, Jon Campbell, his brother, Harry Campbell of Florida, six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his son, Jack Campbell, Jr., his sister, Sally Shay and his grandson, Jon E. Campbell.

Visitation will be on Friday 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 South Mill St.

A service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 5:00 p.m. Pastor Warren Sullivan of New Life Baptist Church will officiate.

The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform military rites at the funeral home on Friday.

Entombment will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
