Obituary for Robert Bruce Bremmer

Robert Bruce Bremmer (88) died October 7, 2019 on the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary with his devoted and beloved wife of 67 years, Bernice (Bee), at his side. He is also survived by his 13 children: Bob (Cathy) Bremmer, Marian (Bill) Marquis, Bill (Kim) Bremmer, Mark (Katy) Bremmer, Kim (Jack) Roos, Sister Annie Bremmer, Karen (Jack) Infield, Sheri (Tom) Entz, John (Chrissy) Bremmer, Jean (Greg) Wolf, Dorie (Mike) Pavia, Darin (Yvonne) Bremmer and Jenny (Jeff) Benson; 57 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and especially Barbie Little, who was like his sister. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elfrida and William Bremmer, sisters and brother: Valborg Bauchman, June Moore, William Bremmer and Doris Bond.

Bob was born in Berywn, IL, moved to Naperville, IL., where he met and married Bee. Together with their first 3 children, they moved to Pittsburgh, where they raised all 13 of their children. Bob worked for Westinghouse as a Quality Control Engineer. After retirement, Bob and Bee moved to North Ft. Myers, FL., where they have lived for the past 23 years.

Bob was a “jack of all trades” and a master of many, especially his greatest work – his family. Bob was a devoted husband and father, a man of deep faith, which was nurtured on the Word and Sacrament as he participated in daily Mass after his retirement. Often, when asked how he was, he would reply “another day in paradise.” He would often be found outside puttering in his garden, which was his favorite hobby.

Bob will be remembered for his love for Bee, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; his love of nature; and his quiet yet commanding presence. He truly was “the leader of the band.”

A special “thank you” to the Hope Hospice Team for their outstanding care, compassion and assistance during this difficult time – they were wonderful, especially Noel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may go to Hope Hospice in North Ft. Myers, 2430 Diplomat Pkwy E, Cape Coral, FL 33909.

The Memorial Mass will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday November 16, 2019 at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Mary Catholic Church Site, 124 N. Beaver St. New Castle, PA 16101. Rev. Father Joseph McCaffrey, Pastor of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate.

Local arrangements have been entrusted to the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 South Mill St.
