John “Ron” Kukich, 77, of Bessemer passed away the morning of July 28, 2019 at his residence.

John was born on May 12, 1942 in New Castle to the late John and Margaret Serjak Kukich.

On July 15, 1967 he married his wife the former Norma Ieraci.

He had retired from Lindy Paving where he worked as a mechanic welder. John was an active member of Holy Spirit Parish, and Christ the King Men’s Club.

John had served his country as part of the Army Reserve.

John was an avid golfer and enjoyed woodworking. He had been a lifelong member of the Croation Club. His greatest joy was the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by his children, Jacqueline (Shelby) Schilling of New Castle, Diane (John) Bucknum of Evans City, his sister, Eileen Kukich of El Paso, TX, and his grandchildren, Miranda, Megan, Sydney and Sophia.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Cecile Colucci.

The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform military rites on Wednesday at 11:45 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Anthony Site (Christ the King). Visitation will follow on Wednesday 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Anthony Site (Christ the King).

A Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s at 1:00 p.m. Father Joseph McCaffrey will officiate.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 South Mill St.
