Obituary for Clyde Shoaf Jr.

Clyde Shoaf, Jr. of Union Township went home to be with his Lord and Savior the afternoon of June 25, 2019.

Born on December 21, 1928 in New Castle he was the son of the late Clyde Shoaf and Sophie Flougher Shoaf Jones.

He married his beloved wife the former Mildred (JoAnn) Ritchie on June 2, 1953 and she preceded him in death on November 7, 2015.

Clyde had worked as a Supervisor for Johnson Bronze and then for New Castle Battery before he retired. He had served his country as a member of the United States Navy. Clyde enjoyed doing woodworking, and was known as” Mr. Fix It” as he enjoyed tinkering and fixing things and playing the lottery.

Clyde is survived by his children, Vickie Crisci and her husband Vaughn, Bonnie Davisson, all of New Castle, his son, Ron Britton and his wife Louise of California, six grandchildren, Shannon Lear, Amy Abruzere, Kiley Shine, Haleigh Davisson, Dylan Davisson, T.J. Britton and six great grandchildren. Clyde will also be dearly missed by his dog, Bella.

In addition to his parents and wife Clyde was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon Shoaff and Leroy Shoaf and two sisters, Nettie Hedland and Myrtle Griffin.

Friends and family will be received at Life Changing Ministries Church, 2929 Mercer Road on Sunday 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be conducted by Rev. Randy Crum at 5:00 p.m. at the church.

The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct military rites on Sunday at the church.
