Obituary for Stella Marie Mangino

Mangino, Stella Marie - “To live in the hearts we leave behind, is to never die”….

On June 15, 2019, our beloved Stella, 88, went home with her Heavenly Father, and was joyfully reunited with her husband, Lawrence, her mother, Rose Savelli, her father, Fortunato Savelli and her brothers, Fudi, Dominic and Paul Savelli.

Born on September 5, 1930 in New Castle, PA., Stella means “star” in Italian, and this is fitting because she will always shine brightly, and her light will never go out in our hearts. Her legacy is a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She dedicated herself to her family and home, always sharing her wonderful food with everyone. As an extremely hard worker, Stella was a restaurant manager for many years and loved people and working with the public. She was truly a kind lady with a big heart, a believer in Jesus Christ, and always be remembered for her sweet nature and for putting family first.

Stella is survived by her sister, Susie Fee, her children, Larry Mangino (Sharyn), Rochelle Rand (Gary), grandchildren, Gary, Matthew and Brittany, great grandchildren, Matthew and Sophia, as well as nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Also cherishing her memory is a special friend, Richard Perrell and sister-in-law, Virginia Savelli.

Stella was a member of St. Vitus Church.

The family would like to thank Quality of Life Services (fka Golden Hill) for their attentive and compassionate care. Also, a special thank you to Three Rivers Hospice for their extraordinary care, especially LaDare.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4pm to 7pm at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St.

A service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11am conducted by Rev. Glenn Crytzer.

Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery.
