Obituary for John W. McLaren
John W. McLaren, 78, of New Castle passed away on May 30, 2019 at Heritage Valley Health Systems in Beaver, Pa.
Born on October 30, 1940 in New Castle he was the son of the late John and Silvia Bookamer McLaren.
On November 30, 1959 he married his beloved wife the former Janet Ruth Leasure who preceded him in death on November 8, 2008.
John had worked in construction as a laborer.
John enjoyed cooking and was an avid football fan. He celebrated the fourth of July and Christmas with elaborate displays that are fondly remembered by his family and neighbors.
John is survived by his children, Sherry Williams, Edwin McLaren and his wife Dina, all of New Castle, Bryan McLaren and his wife Judy of New Wilmington and Annette Fish and her husband Ernie of New Castle, two sisters, Doris McCune and Betty Guyer both of New Castle and fifteen grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife John was preceded in death by his son, John W. McLaren, II, three brothers and four sisters.
Visitation will be on Tuesday 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 South Mill St.
A service will be held on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home officiated by Rev. Luke Rambo.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
