Obituary for Clara L. Turco
Clara L. Turco, 89, of New Castle passed away the morning of May 20, 2019 at the Haven Convalescent Home.
Born in Beaver Falls, PA on July 22, 1929, Clara was the daughter of the late Frank “Grundy” and Stella DeVinney Volpe.
Clara was a member of St. Vitus Church. She retired from the New Castle Area School District where she had worked as a secretary for over twenty years. Clara had also worked at Sear’s Dept. Store and Troggio’s Restaurant. She enjoyed playing bingo, visiting casinos and attending all the local Night at the Races. Clara enjoyed spending time with her family and cherished being surrounded by her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her four children, Kathy and her husband Father Chris Davis, Nick A. Turco, Jr, Melissa Kermagi, all of New Castle and Frank Turco of Hubbard, OH, her sisters, Louise Vitullo, Marlene “Pudue” LaCava, Carol “Flicka” Colaberardino , all of Ellwood City; five grandchildren, Christopher Davis, Sam Davis, Patrick Turco, Nicholas Turco III, and Gabriella Turco and four great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Clara is preceded in death by her former husbands, Samuel Kelly, Nick A. Turco, Sr., her brothers, Earl Tyler and Ralph “Doc” Volpe and her sister, Ralphetta Majors.
Visitation is Thursday from 4pm to 7pm at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St. New Castle, PA.
A procession will leave the funeral home on Friday at 12pm for St. Vitus Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30pm officiated by Father Anthony Sciarappa.
Burial will take place at Parkside Cemetery.
