Obituary for Virginia L. Russell
Virginia L. Russell, 78, of New Castle passed away the morning of May 11, 2019 at her residence.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pa. on January 31, 1941, Virginia was the daughter of the late Robert and Geraldine Hollis. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Veryl “Ike” Russell.
Virginia had worked as a sales clerk at Sheetz for twenty years. She had also worked as a home health care aid. Virginia enjoyed making crafts, wreaths and cooking.
She is survived by her children, Dean Winkle and his wife Kim of Basom, NY, Kevin Winkle and his wife Andrea and William Russell, both of New Castle; her brother, Ernie Hollis; sisters, Patty McCallister, Janet Held, Betty Hollis Arner; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband Virginia is preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Donovan.
Visitation is Tuesday from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St followed by a service at 3pm at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Richard Nero.
