Obituary for Gerald (Abe) DuBrock

Gerald (Abe) DuBrock passed away Friday, May 3, 2019 at UPMC Jameson, after a lengthy illness.

He was born in New Castle on May 1, 1934 to the late Levi and Mary Yount DuBrock.

Abe was employed by Lockley Machine as a certified Welder for thirty six years (1945 through 1990), when the company closed and he was forced to take retirement due to a back injury.

He was a devoted Husband, Father, and Grandfather and his greatest joy came from helping neighbors and family by cutting their grass or making small repairs for them. He will be greatly missed. His favorite pastime was to read magazines on new technology, and he loved to spend time with family and walking his dog Ajax!

Gerald (Abe) is survived by his wife of forty nine years, the former Connie Marker of Edinburg, Pa, three daughters and their spouses, Jerri Pharr (Thomas) of Edinburg, Gay Heaney (Sam), and Tammy Herb (Chester) of New Castle, three stepson, Roy A. Lambright of Edinburg, Randy Lambright of Beaver, Pa., and Todd Lambright of Mercer, Pa, his grandson, Brock Barber, whom he raised for the past twenty years, and many other grandsons, granddaughters, and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Calvin and Richard DuBrock, two sisters, Mamie Wiseman and Peg Gwin, three daughters, Mary (Liz) Baker, Joyce Heaney, Nancy DuBrock and one son, Levi DuBrock.

A Memorial Service will be conducted on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 South Mill St. Pastor Howard Irwin of Woodlawn First Baptist Church in Aliquippa, Pa. will officiate.

Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
