Obituary for Dorothy I. Worek (Mathieson)
Dorothy I. Worek, 88, of Shenango Township passed away the morning of April 28, 2019 at her residence.
Born on June 4, 1930 in Volant, Pa. she was the daughter of the late Charles and Helen Serwatka Mathieson.
On August 19, 1950 she married her husband, Joseph Worek. He preceded her in death on February 27, 1989.
She was retired from A&P Supermarket. Dorothy was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church. She enjoyed playing bingo, needlepoint and loved to bake.
Dorothy is survived by her brother, James Mathieson of Grove City, her sisters, Joan McCandless and Carol Gordon both of New Castle, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and several great great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband Dorothy was preceded in death by her sisters, Marie Mielcarek, Betty Gwin, Jean Gurgacz, Martha Stanley, her brother Charles “Buddy” Mathieson and an infant brother.
There are no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
Burial will be in St. Philip & James Cemetery.
