Obituary for Sylvia D. Wilson (Rice)
Sylvia D. Wilson, 56, of New Castle passed away on March 21, 2019 at UPMC Passavant Hospital following a brief illness.
Born on December 1, 1962 in Maylene, Alabama she was the daughter of Kelly and Catherine Hudson Rice. Her father preceded her in death and her mother survives in New Castle.
Sylvia had worked in janitorial services for the New Castle School District. She was a member of St. Paul the Baptist Church. Sylvia enjoyed going to bingo, playing cards and taking cruises. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her mother, Sylvia is survived by her children, LaToya Rice and Andre Fitzpatrick and his wife Mallori all of New Castle, two brothers, Raymond Rice of New Castle and Brian Rice of Youngstown, Ohio, and her sister, Brenda Davis of New Castle and four grandchildren.
Sylvia is preceded in death by her father and her granddaughter, Adrianna Johnson.
Visitation will be on Wednesday 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 South Mill St.
A Homegoing service will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Rev. Fletcher Hudson will officiate.
Burial will be in Parkside Cemetery.
