Obituary for Ronald S. Williams

Ronald S. Williams, 72, of New Castle, passed away March 16, 2019 at his residence.

Born on April 15, 1946 in New Castle he was the son of the late Ralph V. and Evelyn Elizabeth McConahy Williams.

Ron retired as a Lieutenant from the New Castle Police Department after twenty-eight and half years of service. After retirement, Ron worked as a security officer at Beaver Medical Center and for the New Castle School District as a Resource Officer. He was a member and past President of the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 21. Ron served his country as a member of the Army Reserves. He was an avid golfer having played for four different leagues and was noted for his two hole in ones. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus #512.

Ron is survived by his two children, Jamie Wetjen and her husband Todd of Franklin, Pa, Ronald L. Williams of New Castle, his former wife, Bonnie Williams of New Castle, his step mother, Elizabeth Williams of New Castle, two grandchildren, Mallory and Aaron Wetjen of Franklin, Pa, and his two bull dogs, Bentley and Bella.

In addition to his parents Ron was preceded in death by his brother, William Williams.

Visitation will be on Tuesday 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road.

The New Castle Honor Guard will perform military rights at the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:15 a.m.

A procession will leave the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Camillus Church at 10:00 a.m. Father Michael Peck will officiate.

Burial will be in the Veterans section of Parkside Cemetery.
