Obituary for Delores J. Barnes (Asbury)
Delores J. Barnes, 80, of New Castle, passed away the morning of February 27, 2019 at UPMC Jameson.
Born on April 29, 1938 in Youngstown, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Milton Asbury and Margaret Brooks.
Delores had been married to Wilbur Barnes, who preceded her in death.
Delores had worked as a supervisor for Airway Luggage for thirty years. She was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church and Daughter of Elks Club. Delores cherished her family and loved spending time with them.
Delores is survived by her brothers, Irvin Hill, Michael Hill, Dorian Hill, sisters, Edith Sims, Carol Asbury-Williams, Jacqueline Fears, and Sandra Gilmore, her uncle, Charles Brown, goddaughter, Annie Calvetta-White, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, Delores was preceded in death by her husband and sister, Laverne Gilmore.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 South Mill St.
A Home Going service will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Robert Mills will officiate.
Burial will be in Parkside Cemetery.
