Obituary for Ruth Fishburn
Ruth Fishburn, 83, of New Castle passed away the morning of February 22, 2019 at Rhodes Estates.
Born on July 11, 1935 in Aliquippa, PA Ruth was the daughter of the late David and Ruth Hill Heaton. She is survived by her loving husband of over sixty three years, Richard Fishburn, whom she married on January 14, 1956.
Ruth was a member of Hoover Heights Christian and Missionary Alliance Church where she sang in the choir and served as the church’s treasurer. In her earlier years, Ruth had worked as the manger of the Humell Gift Shop. She enjoyed needle point, collecting Precious Moments and was an avid Steelers fan. Ruth cherished the times she spent with her family and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Ruth is survived by her three children, Cathy (Randy) Hurst of Derby, KS, D. Scott (Robin) Fishburn of New Castle, Beth (Michael) Stone of West Pittsburg; sister, Judy (David) Badger of New Galilee, PA, six grandchildren, Nathan (Shaye) Hurst, Melissa (Jacob) Peters, Matthew (Lauren) Hurst, Chelsea (Brian) DiGia, Heath (Talia) Fishburn, Maria Stone and four great grandchildren, Gunner and Nora Hurst, Everhett DiGia and Génvieve Fishburn.
In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by a son, Ricky Fishburn and her brother, David Heaton, Jr.
Visitation is Monday from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd.
A service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 conducted by Pastor Larry Lewellyn. Burial will take place at Castleview Memorial Garden.
