Obituary for John P. Marshall
John P. Marshall, 48, of Union Township, passed away on January 19, 2019 at the Heritage Valley Health System after a long and courageous battle with ALS.
Born in Milton, Florida on October 26, 1970, John was the son of Jack and Joanne Gibson Marshall. His parents survive in Union Township.
He was a member of Mary, Mother of Hope Parish. John had worked as a flight attendant for American Airlines for over eighteen years. A 1989 graduate of Union High School, John was a standout athlete excelling in baseball, basketball and football. He attended the Dana School of Music and was an accomplished musician playing the guitar and piano.
John will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, John is survived by his sister, Laurie Griffith and her husband Robert of New Castle, his niece, Mary Griffith, his nephew, Jonah Griffith and his maternal grandmother, Mary L. Gibson.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John P. and Carmela Marshall and paternal grandfather, Roger Gibson.
Visitation is Tuesday from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd.
A procession will leave the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:30AM for St. Mary’s Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM officiated by Rev. Father William Siple.
Entombment will take place at the Resurrection Mausoleum.
