Obituary for Robert Anthony Blazak

Robert A. Blazak, 98, of New Castle passed away the morning of January 19, 2019 at the Avalon Place.

Born on June 7, 1920 in New Castle, Robert was the son of the late Valentine and Josephine Belbot Blazak. On September 11, 1946 he married his loving wife, the former Sadie Lastoria whom preceded him in death on November 4, 20007.

Robert was a member of Mary, Mother of Hope Parish.

Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country during WWII and was a member of the American Legion Post No 343.

After working over forty years, Robert retired from the Pentex Company. An avid outdoorsman, Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He was also a fan of NASCAR.

Robert is survived by his two daughters, Kathy Blazak and Rita Mele, both of New Castle; granddaughters, Ria Mele, Renee Croisetiere and her husband Ken, his great grandson, Colton Croisetiere and his great granddaughter, Caroline Croisetiere.

In addition to his parents and wife, Robert is preceded in death by his six sisters, Helen Natzic, Wanda Levensky, Connie Copple, Mary Masterson, Ann Blazak and Jennie Blazak and three brothers, Charles, Ted and Frank Blazak.

Visitation is Wednesday from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St.

The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform military rites at the funeral home on Thursday morning at 9:15AM. A procession will leave the funeral home on Thursday at 9:30AM for St. Mary’s Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM officiated by Rev. Father Victor Molka, Jr.

Burial will take place at St. Vitus Cemetery.
