Nick Tropea, Jr., 74, known to everyone as ”Barber Nick”, of Hillsville, passed away the morning of January 15, 2019 at UPMC Jameson.

Born on September 12, 1944 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Nicola D. Sr. and Marion Commisso Tropea.

On May 22, 1976 he married the love of his life, the former Laura Cilli and she survives at home.

Nick had owned and worked at his barber shop in Hillsville for over fifty years and truly loved his work and his customers. He also worked for Giant Eagle.

Nick truly loved his Lord and was a member of Christ the King Parish. Nick was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns and New York Yankees. He was a very loving husband, father and grand-father and will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Nick is survived by his children, Brandon Tropea of Charlotte, NC, Nicole McCue and her husband Corey of Hillsville, Danielle Dess and her husband William of Boardman, OH. his brother Daniel Tropea and his wife Deborah of New Castle and three grand-children, Marino McCue, Nicco McCue and Skylar Dess.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Quinn Dess.

Visitation will be on Thursday, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home, 3000 Wilmington Road.

A service will be held on Friday at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Warren Sullivan of New Life Baptist Church will officiate.

Entombment will be in Graceland Mausoleum.
