Obituary for Carrie D. Copple

Carrie D. Copple, 90, of Shenango Township, passed away the evening of December 27, 2018 at UPMC Mercy Hospital.

Born on June 2, 1928 in New Castle, Carrie was the daughter of the late Joseph and Felicia Brancaccio DiThomas. Preceding her in death on August 1, 2003 is her beloved husband, James (J.R.) Copple, whom she married on January 25, 1952.

Carrie was a member of St. Vitus Church.

In her early years, Carrie had worked for the Bell Telephone Company. She enjoyed cooking and cherished the times she spent surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her two children, Colleen Krugh and her husband David of Pittsburgh, Kathy Perrotta and her husband Joseph of New Castle; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Carrie is preceded in death by her four brothers, Louis, Joseph, Michael and Bernard (Ben) DiThomas and seven sisters, Helen Bongivengo, Thresa Hall, Margaret DiThomas, Pauline Merritt, Rose Keener, Laura Fyffe and Felicia Conti.

Visitation is Sunday from 2:00PM to 5:00PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St.

A procession will leave the funeral home on Monday at 9:30AM for St. Vitus Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM officiated by Father Joseph McCaffrey, Pastor.

Entombment will take place at Parkside Mausoleum.
