Obituary for Betty J. Firmi
Betty J. Firmi, 85, of New Castle, passed away the morning of December 21, 2018 at Quality of Life Services of New Castle.
Born in New Castle on April 20, 1933, Betty was the daughter of the late Patsy and Rose Lupo Gregg. Preceding her in death on January 24, 1999, is her husband, Samuel C. Firmi whom she married on August 24, 1957.
She was a member of Mary, Mother of Hope Parish. Betty had worked as a sales clerk and cashier at Eckerd Drug Store and prior to that at Kmart Department Store in Boardman. She enjoyed playing bingo and visiting casinos.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Audrey Buckley and her husband Patrick of New Castle and her two grandchildren, Nicholas Buckley, Patrick Buckley, and his wife Courtney. In addition to her parents and husband,
Betty is preceded in death by her daughter, Rose M. Firmi and her brother, George P. Gregg.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 22, 2018, at 10:00AM at St. Mary’s Church, Mary Mother of Hope Parish.
Entombment will take place at Parkside Mausoleum.
