Obituary for Carmen Burzachechi

Carmen  Burzachechi
Carmen Burzachechi, 89 of Gibsonia, Pennsylvania, formerly of Mahoningtown, New Castle, Pennsylvania, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018 with his beloved daughters at his side.

He is survived by his two daughters, Nancilee Burzachechi and Victoria Burzachechi also of Gibsonia, and a sister, Mary (Burzachechi) Farone of New Castle.

He married the love of his life, Mary Elizabeth “Babe” (Pietrandrea) Burzachechi, formerly of Koppel, Pennsylvania, on June 10, 1961. She preceded him in death on July 1, 1987. He is also preceded in death by his father, Salvatore Burzachechi and his mother, Mary Victoria (Pidro) Burzachechi.

Carmen was a true renaissance man who was a master carpenter, stained glass artist, winemaker and one of Mahoningtown’s proudest sons. He served as the barber in Mahoningtown for many years and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served as a medic.
He was ahead of his time, and enjoyed sports, cooking, and entertaining. He loved music and truly loved to dance. He was a true people person and was a friend to all.

Visitation will be at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 South Mill St. on Wednesday, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform military rights at the funeral home on Thursday morning at 9:15 a.m. A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. for St. Vitus Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Father Joseph McCaffrey, Pastor of St. Vitus Church will officiate.

Interment will be at St. Vitus Cemetery.
