Obituary for Rachel A. Flamino (Singe)

Rachel A. Flamino, 94, of New Castle passed away the morning of December 9, 2018 at Quality Life Services of New Castle.

Born on May 30, 1924 in Utica, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Louis and Adeline Capelli Singe.

On July 18, 1946, she married her beloved husband, Arthur F. Flamino who preceded her in death on May 6, 2008.

During WWII, Rachel worked as an original Rosie the Riveter making military uniforms. She is a member of Mary Mother of Hope Parish. Rachel enjoyed bowling, bingo, watching game shows and cooking. Her greatest joy was having her family and friends around, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Everyone loved and will miss her great sense of humor.

Rachel is survived by her children, Arthur A. Flamino and his wife Rosemarie of New Castle and Donna DiMuccio and her husband John of Youngstown, OH, her brother Anthony Singe of Saratoga, NY and her sister, Elaine Kalesnik of Bayonne, NJ, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband Rachel was preceded in death by her son, Gary Flamino, two brothers, Vincent Singe and Thomas Singe and one sister, Anne Pecheone.

Visitation will be on Wednesday 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 South Mill St.

A procession will leave the funeral home on Thursday at 9:30 .m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church at 10:00 a.m. officiated by Father Anthony Sciarappa.

Entombment will be at Resurrection Mausoleum.
